Back from the dead

I haven't posted for awhile as I've been suffering (as most males do) with a bit of a winter cold. Now that I've regained some enthusiasm, I'll get back to the business at hand of developing my web presence.

But first, I have to have my Saturday round of golf.

Now I'm a Twit

Effective from about 9.30pm AEST I officially became part of the Twitter network. Talk about teaching old dogs new tricks! Everyone has been telling me to sign up as it can help with networking a new business so I decided to search for mortgage brokers and follow them and see what happens.

Hello to all of you brokers out there! Let's see what we are up to.

Nice to be back home

Well, it all sounded good a week ago when seven of us decided to head off to Yamba, NSW for a week long cycling adventure. The weather was absolutely perfect autumn weather when we left, but one day after arriving in Yamba, a low pressure system hit the area and stormy weather prevailed.

However we did manage to get in 3 days of small trips that probably totalled about 125kms along the Clarence River.

As with all Aussie adventures, the weather isn't a problem if there are a few pubs along the way. Our favourite turned out to be the Brushgrove Pub which was built in 1862. Lovely staff, great food and really cold beer. And since the pub is on the banks of the Clarence and salty water travels up that far from the ocean, we met a local fisherman who sold us 5 kgs of prawns (shrimp) which were some of the freshest and sweetest I've ever eaten.

Due to the weather turning nasty overnight and one of our fellow cyclists having a medical emergency back home we decided to head north back to Bribie rather than suffer a couple of stormy days where we couldn't cycle. Although Brisbane had the same storm go through yesterday, the sun was out when we got home and anyway it's always good to be home.

Study continues

For the past week I've spent about an hour a day reviewing all the info and tools in Module 1 of the EHBE program and let me tell you there is a lot of reading to do. Since I know just enough about internet marketing to make me dangerous, I've decided the smart thing to do is just wait until Module 2 comes out next month before I go any further.

With the purchase of the Micro Niche software, the finding keywords in niche markets for affilliate programs is a breeze. The trouble is you are tempted to go straight in and buy a domain name, set up a website and see what happens. But waiting for the correct way of doing it and following Wes and Andrew's advice is the best way to go.

I've been marginally dissappointed in the fact you can't contact Wes and Andrew easily. However at this stage I'm writing that down to the fact that they have been extremely busy with thousands of emails since the Today Tonight show. Hopefull in June when the start the live tele seminars, all my questions can be answered.

The main question I have at the moment is whether or not I used the correct links for my email campaign to brokers. I sent out over 200 emails promoting the EHBE but to date have not received any sale through Clickbank. One email receipeint actually emailed me to say he had signed up but I haven't seen any sales come through.

Anyway, today's Wednesday and need to get ready for golf.

Better than broking

If you are a broker reading this, this is for you.

With the industry going through monumental changes at the moment, I wasn't prepared to ride out the storm and depend on broking by itself. Some of the things I found attractive about online marketing compared to broking were:

No accreditations needed
Prospects are EVERYWHERE
They all qualify
No bad credit issues
No affilliation fees, COSL, MFAA, PI insurance, etc.
You control your service levels
No CPD points to maintain
No late settlements
No delayed approvals
No applications to complete

Also the earnings can be just as good as broking was during the good years. I don't intend on being an internet millionaire but I do expect earnings of at least 70k per annum which will keep me happy with my present lifestyle. Others who may be younger can go even higher if they wish. The opportunities are immense.

The search for the holy grail

I spent many hours looking for a legitimate business and am almost embarrassed to disclose how much I spent in signing up for useless schemes. We all know there is no "free lunch" but some of the offers out there are extraordinary.

What I did learn over a period of years is that there are a lot of FREE tools to help you, but unless you can connect the dots, it is very hard to establish yourself in a good internet business without someone with experience guiding you. There are many people on the net that refer to themselves as guru's or mentors but you'll find that most of them are just parroting what others are saying in order to make you think they have some experience behind them.

What always appealed to me was what is known as affiliate marketing. I had experienced it as a buyer many times, especially when I was trying to improve my golf and I purchased a couple of lessons on line (that worked!). I signed up with Clickbank which is the leading source of the affilliate programs an it's unbelievable what is on offer. Go to the link above and have a look for yourself.

Once again, there are thousands of products out there to be affilliated with, but how you go about it can be very daunting without some help. With the right systems, software and guidance you can be off and running fairly cheaply. For me the best help I could find was the
Easiest Home Business Ever program. I recommend it to everyone. The benefits are that they slowly introduce you to affilliate marketing in a series of tutorials over a period of 12 months. You don't have to take all 12 months if you find your feet earlier and find a niche market you like to operate in. However there is such a variety of opportunities on offer that I'm going to have a look at all 12 modules. If you're looking for a solid platform to start from this is it! And unlike most of the other programs out there which are U.S. enterprises, it's Aussie, homegrown right here by two local blokes.

A bit of history

Although I only started this blogsite today, it has been inspired by over 5 years dabbling in ways to make a good honest income working from home.

Since 1997 I have been a mortgage broker working with various broking organisations including Australian Mortgage Brokers, Resi, Aussie and finally being independent and working from home on my own (most successful of all). For the past year I have used my http://www.reversemortgages.net.au/ website to generate leads for my Seniors Loans Made Easy business.

Since the beginning of the "financial crisis", general broking business had dropped off dramatically and although I have a fair trailing commission, I figured that would dry up in 3 to 5 years so I was looking for ways to replace this income. As far back as 2004 I picked up a book on Google Ads and that stirred my interest in online marketing, but since broking was going well back in those days I didn't pursue it much further.

After setting up my Seniors Loans Made Easy website I was searching for ways to drive more traffic to the site and while pursing this activity, I stumbled across a variety of free internet tools which I found useful. With this new arsenal I was looking for a way to use them in order to generate some income online. I quickly discovered that you become very vulnerable to all the scams out there looking to hook some "newbie" into one of their schemes. I'm past that danger now and would like others avoid it too.
